Historical Society
The Historical Society of Udalguri College, Udalguri is attached to the Department of History, Udalguri College. It came into existence on the 23rd of August 2022. It aims to discover the hidden historical aspects of the Udalguri district and make the stakeholders and the nation at large aware of the rich legacy of the place. Much of the history of Assam before the advent of the Ahoms is lying in the labyrinth of darkness. There is a minimal historical treatise written, which reveals the rich repository of history that Assam holds. Udalguri is not an exception in this regard. Remnants of the past, lie scattered around the district but there is hardly any description of the place in the pages of history with certain exceptions to Darrang Raj Vanshavali wherein certain places of Udalguri district have been mentioned. The Historical Society of Udalguri College, Udalguri has been instituted due to this endeavour to discover, decipher and interpret the pre-historical and historical relevance of Udalguri. The Teachers, students and alumni as well as anyone interested in history can become its members. As of now, the following is the composition of the Society
