NSS Unit, Udalguri College was introduced in the year 2012. Keeping in tune with the motto of being a responsible organization and with a commitment towards serving the nation, the NSS unit of Udalguri College has been providing a platform to students so that they serve the nation and upgrade their personality and outlook towards life. The primary objective of the NSS is to develop personality and character of the students through voluntary community service. Education through Service is the purpose of the NSS.

The motto of National Service Scheme is NOT ME BUT YOU and the NSS Unit of Udalguri College too abides by it.

Objectives:

The main objectives of National Service Scheme (NSS) are:

1. Understand the community in which students work.
2. Understand themselves in relation to their community.

iii. Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving.

1. Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.
2. Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems.
3. Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities.

vii. Gain skills in mobilizing community participation.

viii. Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes.

1. Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and
2. Practice national integration and social harmony.
